Following on from the wonderful Chrome Features and Extensions/Translate videos, BBH and fellow New Yorkers 1st Avenue Machine eschew computer trickery for a dremel and some super glue once again, coming out with another delightfully analogue spot using paint, explosions and potatoes to illustrate just how fast the search giant's browser loads pages.

Besides captivating camerawork and creative ideas that appeal to your inner child, this campaign is also interesting for the reason that it first launched with a making of (now on 320,000 views and counting) before letting the full spot trickle round the internet. 

Google has a whole series of technical benchmarks to test the speed of their browser, but have sensibly continued a lo-fi approach to communicating this sucess as these data-heavy specifications are not the kind of information to which your average person can relate. Pirate ships being obliterated by lightning and giant spud guns, on the other hand...
