We've secretly been working away with London-based
Unruly Media over the last couple of months to create the
Most Contagious Viral Chart, a place to go check out all the best branded videos working their way round the Facebook walls and Twitter streams beneath your very noses.
Unruly are the smart bunch behind the much loved
Viral Video Chart, and the new Contagious chart sits proudly alongside that. Originally launched back in 2006 and described by will.i.am as 'the Billboard Hot 100 of our generation', Viral Video Chart has long been a must-have tool for creatives seeking inspiration and cultural commentators surfacing viral content on the web.
Unruly has just hit the big red button and relaunched the all new chart, now with a slick new design and enhanced functionality that enables viral junkies to view data by platform, including how many times a clip has been shared via Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere.
The chart ranks videos by the number of shares they have received: the platform-specific data unmasks the misconception that 'social media' channels all do the same job where spreading viral content is concerned. The new site makes it possible for users to monitor which social media platforms are driving sharing activity across specific videos and types of video content.
Like the magazine we're also going to be taking submissions for this, so let your lovely PR people/person/firm know - they just need to drop us a line with a YouTube link and we'll take care of the rest - get 'em over to
