The
Complete History of Food is running over five days in a stunning central London townhouse, specially transformed for the occasion. The adventure was curated by
Courvoisier Future 500
members
Bompas and Parr,
who have quickly built a reputation of creating unusual food and drink
experiences par excellence.
The unique event, costing £25 per head including dinner and Courvoisier-inspired drinks, launched with a gathering for Future 500 members - the brand's exclusive community of movers and shakers from a range of backgrounds from media, business and the sciences to art and design, public life and creative innovation. The aim of the Future 500, now in its third year, is to create a melting pot of opportunities and inspiration, facilitated by the cognac brand.
Visitors to the Complete History of Food are taken on a sensory journey through time and space, following a gourmet path through a range of weird and wonderful themes. On the menu, dining-related delights include tastes of the mediaeval, Renaissance and Victorian eras, modern themes such as 'roof garden' and 'TV dinner' (with scratch and sniff cards in a 1940s living room) and a queasy-sounding body experience, involving a walk-through of a giant inflatable stomach complete with oversized chips and peas.
Courvoisier's summer activities extend beyond this experience with other events taking place throughout London, including a collaboration with theatre company
Punchdrunk and the
English National Opera - check the full list on
Facebook.
Bars participating in the
Summer of Punch across the UK will be serving unique Courvoisier recipes in bespoke punch bowls, adding a touch of glamour to your usual pub experience. A tie-in with
Foursquare makes it easier to track the bars down. This is backed up at retail outlets by a limited edition bottle of the spirit, complete with cocktail recipe book and punch ladle, all available in
Sainsbury's supermarkets across the UK.
